Sandz Gallery, located in Frankton Village Hamilton, holds exhibitions of visual artists from the wider community as well as the work of the artists who attend our studio sessions.

 

Sandz Achievements

 

• In 2015 Sandz artist Zain Sorrensen was a finalist in the New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Award

 

• In 2013 and 2014 Sandz artists Alfred Tere Waamu and Cherie Mellsopp were represented in the final selection of the Parkin Drawing Prize

 

• Artists from Sandz Studio have been regular finalists at the annual IHC Art Awards, including 1st prize winners Cherie Mellsopp and Paul Sedgwick

 

 

What We Do

 

At Sandz we encourage the development of individual, self-directed arts practice. We assist our artists to grow their art-making skills in a caring and responsive environment. We encourage experiential learning aimed at the competencies of each individual. We operate in a collaborative, studio environment where artists gain community through our shared creative practice.
